If you’ve been following along for a while now, you know I love a good afternoon coffee and love to support small/local businesses whenever possible! Thankfully there’s no shortage of amazing locally-owned coffee shops and roasters right here in Baton Rouge, which leaves me with plenty of options wherever I am in town.

* Brew Ha Ha – 711 Jefferson Hwy # 2A
Cakeballs, yummy coffee, and food (pre-Covid). Need I say more? They also have lots of gluten-free and paleo snacking options for anyone interested.
Cedar House Roasting Co – 5522 Jones Creek Rd
Probably the newest establishment on this list, Cedar House Roasting Co is a cool hip spot to grab a delicious coffee. They also offer in-house childcare for parents looking to enjoy their coffee and get some work done without having to worry about their little ones. Plus there are plants, which is always a plus in my plant lady book!

* City Roots Coffee Bar – 1509 Government St, Suite A
Located in the Electric Depot off Government St, City Roots is another one of my go-to spots. With plenty of coffee options, lots of tea, flatbreads, and yummy baked goods from Batch Baking Company, you’ll be set for days!
Coffee Bean Cafe – 12177 Coursey Blvd
Another great spot for great coffee and lots of food options!
Coffee Call – 3132 College Dr, Suite F
A popular spot for beignets and cafe-au-lait, this cute spot right off College Drive also serves up a tasty lunch!
Coffee Joy – 3617 Perkins Rd #1B
This unique shop off Perkins Road near Acadian brings a Turkish flair to your coffee addiction. Fun fact: they use coffee ice cubes in their iced coffees! Genius.

District Donuts – 7415 Corporate Blvd., #900
You might know them for their donuts, but they have amazing coffee too! And if you aren’t a huge fan of donuts (like me), they have LOTS of savory food options making it a perfect option for an afternoon coffee + quick bite!
* French Truck Coffee – 2978 Government Street
Another of my favorites in Mid City! French Truck Coffee always has a variety of roasts on rotation and plenty of light food and baked goods to choose from, and when the weather is nice the patio is the perfect spot to get some work done.
Garden District Coffee – 2008 Perkins Rd
This little shop located (as the name suggests) in the heart of the garden district is a local favorite for coffee and fresh pastries.

Highland Coffees – 3350 Highland Rd
A popular spot for students, this coffee shop is tucked away off Highland Road and Chimes Street and serves up a mean cup of coffee. They also have a huge selection of loose teas available for all my tea drinkers!
Java Mama – 14340 Wax Road – Suite 101
While the Bluebonnet location shut their doors late last year, their Central location is still up and running. Perfect for those with kids, this little shop offers supervised playtime for little ones and a great coffee options!
La Divina Italian Cafe – 3535 Perkins Road, #360
From gelato to tasty food, La Divina is the perfect spot to grab a tea or coffee, quick lunch, or sweet treat.
* Light House Coffee – 257 Lee Drive, Suite O
Not only do they have great coffee and tasty baked goods, they also sell products that give back! Right next to the counter you can check out some products/goods from The Hope Shop.

* Magpie Cafe – 3205 Perkins Road
Another popular spot in the Garden District / Perkins Overpass area, Magpie serves a variety of food and baked goods alongside delicious coffee. They also offer brunch options on the weekend, and display art/goods from local artists and makers!
Rue Beignet – 18135 E Petroleum Drive
Located off Highland Road, Rue Beignet is the perfect place to grab a beignet and cafe au lait on the East side of BR.
Southern Cofe – 8418 Scotland Ave
A popular spot for Southern University students, this cute coffee shop is perfect for those looking for a nice cup of coffee or quick bite to eat around the airport.
