FINALLY made it out to the new @torchystacos by LSU for lunch today after a hot bike ride around the lakes, and I have to say - YUM! 🤤

Our bartender Jenny was amazing + I think we found another favorite spot to hang out. Have you been yet?

While I'm not usually a fan, I'm really liking this design by @thehillarystyle - the mix of dark/moody colors with lighter fabrics and just a pop of color makes this bedroom feel pretty cozy! What do you think?

👉 What To Know Wednesday 👈

Unsure if it's even a thing, but today we're making it one 😅 with the start of a new month (jeeze how is it August?!), here are a few things you might have missed in July:

BR-related stuff:

- @sweetbatonrouge officially opened their doors in @electricdepotbr 🎉
- Flambee Cafe in Willow Grove is no more! It has been completely rebranded as @pizzabyronz + offically opened their doors Tuesday after a soft opening over the weekend 🍕
- @torchystacos by campus is also offically open! Making it the perfect spot for me to get some post-bike ride margaritas 🍹
- @redstickfarmersmarket Tuesday markets are back. It's also #nationalfarmersmarketweek - so support your local farmers!
- In case you missed it, @millennialpark opened up in mid/late June with their first vendor (@jive_turkey_br) + more opening each week
- The latest capital city coffeeshop addition, @cedarhouseroasting, opened their doors in early July and (for all you parents out there) offers on-site childcare!

Real Estate stuff:

- for MOST areas + price points around the Greater Baton Rouge area, the market is on fire. Houses are going quick due to low interest rates and lack of inventory which means...
.
- if you're buying: low interest rates mean you get more bang for your buck. Either with a lower monthly note or more house for the same money compared to this time last year (and previous years in general)
- if you're selling (or thinking about it): homes are typically selling quick if they're in great condition (esp. in the 200-250k price range!). If you're thinking of selling, now is a great time to do a little tidying, finish those honey-dos, and get it on the market!
- another question I've been getting a lot from buyers has to do with foreclosures. While we ~might~ see an increase in foreclosures later on this year and next, we are not seeing them now. Purchasing one is typically a lengthy process and at least in our market, foreclosures are priced AT market value. Which means you won't be seeing a ton of "amazing deals" hitting the market any time soon

Jokes aside, how pretty is this kitchen? I'm absolutely loving the gorgeous dark blue island that goes perfectly with the glass subway tile backsplash, and I'm always a sucker for beautiful wood floors ❤
